16 March 2012 16:53 Written by Eveline Schrijen

It's almost weekend and of course you're not going to browse trough our whole website looking for updates of all the different projects, if you want to, of course be my guest. :) That's why we did it for you already, here you'll find the nicest, most outstanding and touching project updates. So you can finish drinking coffee and doing other weekend business.

Matunkha Centre in Malawi (South Africa) works together with enthusiastic volunteers from the villages and 209 1%MEMBERS to create a better situation, where the emphasis is on education, preveting HIV and agrarian development.

Judith Mkandawire talks about her turbulent life and what she does as a Matunkha volunteer.

The film mentioned below shows the new kitchen of the Bondekoschool in Kayunga (Uganda).  Bondeko is a organisation that wants to improve the hygenic circumstances at the school.

With a hydraulic pump there will be drinking water and meals can be prepared, therefor the children will be able to focus completely on their educational programma. The water well is already there, now it's waiting for the hydraulic pump! Check out the kids and their new kitchen.

And then there are a lot of ambitious, strong women in Burkina Faso who want to start a small business with a microcredit. Their group, Sinibedia, want to have their own income, so the ladies can take care of the school tuition for their children, healthier food and acces to medical care.

V!VE l'Initiative needs 38 euro per woman to make this happen. President Franca explains the conditions in a meeting with the women.

To finish with I'd like to have your attention for RiKa, an organisation that offers reintegration programmes to (ex)drug addicts and homeless people in Surinam. Initiator Jareth Soemodihardjo talks about his project in the Surinamese tv show ' In the spotlight'  Don't forget to watch!

This is a short interview with Mavis, care taker at RiKa.

All four of these projects still need money, all support is welcome. And for now, have a good weekend!
